Forest Lake Trip on 9/6 or 9/7

Ok I have a guy that I work with that is running a 78? Chevy Blazer with 4" lift and open carriers. He is wanting to go to Forest Lake and look around. I am going to be taking him and was just putting this out there for the rest of the club to join us. I know that the 6th is Labor Day and a lot of you guys might have plans. If not and you want to go it would be great to have more than just the two rigs. If there is no interest for Monday the 6th then we will be going up on Tuesday the 7th just to avoid some of the holiday traffic.

Post up if you want to go. Love to see you on the trail.

I didn't want to keep hijacking Del's night run thread so here we are. I want to go out for a little bit as an initial shake down on the Ramcharger to see how things are going to do. utjb57 has expressed interest in this run as well. If you would rather take a morning run as opposed to a evening run post up or show up.

I was thinking earlier the better. I would like to start at around 6am or sooner and maybe run till around 10am or so. I'm open though.

Anybody up for a Forest Lake Cleanup this Saturday? Mainly just to pick up garbage and document any new damage to the trail or fences. Plan on meeting at Tibble Fork Reservoir at 10:00AM. Also, I will be bringing Take Back Utah Flyers that we can pass out at the trailhead and along the way.

Sand Hollow/Hurricane/St George this Sunday (Aug 15th)?

I'm brand new to these forums, so I apologize if this question has been asked before.

I'll be down at Sand Hollow for some Scuba Diving this Saturday (Aug 14th). I'm planning to bring the Jeep for some wheelin' on Sunday. Probably in the heat of the day, cause I'm taking my wife to the demolition derby/fireworks on Saturday night, and have to be back to SLC by Sunday night. Where can I find information on the trails in that area? I've done a lot of rollin' in Moab, but I've never done anything in the St. George/Hurricane area (I've never even been to Sand Hollow, so I don't even have a concept of what the terrain is like, other than there are a lot of sand dunes). Someone mentioned Milt's Mile as a good ride, but I haven't been able to find a map or coordinates for a start point. Any advice on some good rides down there and how to find them would be fabulous. Links to more info would be spectacular. My rig is an '09 rubicon with a 3" lift, 35s, and a winch. I'm a moderately-skilled driver looking for a challenge, but preferably avoiding high risks of body damage. Something along the same difficulty level as Hell's Revenge (minus the elevator) in Moab would be perfect, preferably lasting between an hour to a half-day.

Thanks in advance for your help. You guys come very highly recommended, so i'm glad I found you.

San Rafeal Swell

I'm going to be in Castle Dale this weekend (8/7 and 8/8) for the Castle Dale Pageant. We are going to the parade in the morning and then over to the Pageant in the evening around 6pm. It's a thing my wife has planned with an old college friend of hers so initially, any backcountry exploring was not on the itinerary. However, the wife and the friend have given me permission to go on a small expedition for 4 to 6 hours mid-day after the parade is over.

So....

Any suggestions on some moderate routes (time-wise) from Castle Dale out into the Swell. I'm assuming it will be crowded so I'd like to avoid the Buckhorn Wash touristy sites.

Initially, I'm thinking Wedge Overlook, then over to Fuller Bottom. Not just the Fuller Bottom crossing, but the Fuller Bottom "trail" as mapped in the map section that is identified on the topo map as "Little Wedge." Any thoughts on that?

I realize that Eva Conover, Devil's Race Track, and Fix It Pass area are all WAY beyond the scope of my time restrictions. BUT... is there anything along that stretch of Coal Wash just to the North of where Devil's Race Track and Eva Conover split? Something worth an hour in and out side trip after coming out of Fuller Bottom? For example, on the maps I see sites names like "The Drips," "The Yellow Seeps," "Horn Silver Gulch."

Any other suggestions?

Anybody that's going to be out that way can join me. Although I can't commit to a time and itinerary until I get there. But PM me and I will give you my cell phone and we can hook up.

St. George Area Trails?

I just found this site yesterday and signed up. I will be in St. George at the end of Aug. for 8-10 days and am dragging the Jeep down with me. Are there any good trails to run near there? Jeep is an 04 Rubicon with 3" lift, 33's, winch, etc. Challenging stuff doesn't bother me at all.
